Farming

Farming lets you grow crops, flowers and trees from seed packets and saplings. The landing crate starts you with Wheat and Melon seeds.

Till, plant, water

With the Hoe in hand, till open ground into soil. Select a crop seed packet to plant it in tilled soil. For flowers, dig a hole with the Shovel, then select the flower seed packet to plant it. Select a sapling to plant it on free grass or dirt above the beach. Use the Water Bucket to water crop and flower beds. You can keep the action button down while walking to work several tiles. Each tile receives the action once during that hold. Rain also waters beds.

Mornings and harvest

Growing crops need water and pollen for their next morning stage. You can pollinate a growing crop by hand. Morning growth uses up the crop's water and pollen. Harvest a ripe crop by hand. The ship's first request is always a crop. See Gathering and mining and The ship's requests.

More seeds and compost

FULL The Planter teaches crop seed recipes, and the Gardener teaches flower seed recipes. Equip Compost from the Composter and spread it on a growing crop to advance it by one stage immediately. Each crop can receive compost once.
